Student Organizations

The Department of Psychology offers a variety of extracurricular opportunities that supplement classroom work. Students can hear presentations by guest speakers, attend discussions and colloquia, and avail themselves of a variety of other activities to further their education in psychology outside the classroom. The department sponsors two student organizations related to psychology.

The department sponsors a chapter of Psi Chi, the international psychology honor society, to which psychology majors, minors, and graduate students can apply. The chapter has hosted a variety of activities including research projects, tutoring for PSY courses, and educational brown bags. Applicants must have completed at least 3 semesters of college, have taken at least 9 hours of psychology courses, and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in both their psychology classes and cumulative grades.

Psychology Club

The Psychology Club offers an opportunity for anyone interested in psychology to join with like-minded students in social, educational, and service-oriented activities. The club has sponsored movie nights, guest speakers, and panel discussions on topics ranging from eating disorders to sport psychology to career planning to graduate school preparation. Club members have taken field trips to locations as diverse as a state psychiatric hospital and a university doctoral 亚洲色图 recruitment fair.
